Why we built this.

Industrial psychology has always been about the relationship between people and work. For 23 years that relationship was relatively stable — roles changed, industries shifted, but the underlying contract was legible. Skills could be assessed. Career paths could be mapped. Advice could be given.

AI has broken that legibility. The task structures that defined most professional roles are being rewritten faster than any assessment tool, any career advice service, and any training programme can track. The professionals who will navigate this are not the ones with the most credentials — they are the ones who have developed the intelligence to read what is happening and act deliberately within it.

PositionMeAI exists to develop that intelligence. Not to predict which jobs are safe — no one can. Not to recommend which skills to add to a CV — the half-life is too short. But to build the six underlying capacities that make a professional capable of navigating their career regardless of what AI does next, and to measure those capacities with the rigour that 23 years of psychometric practice makes possible.

The founding conviction

"The problem is not that people don't know what AI will do to their jobs. The problem is that they haven't developed the capacity to figure it out for themselves — and keep figuring it out, year after year, as AI changes."

De Vlamingh, L. · PositionMeAI founding thesis, 2025

What this is not
Not career advice — we develop capability, not prescribe paths
Not job prediction — no one can reliably forecast which roles survive
Not a credential — Career Intelligence is a capacity you develop, not a certificate you collect

History

From practice to platform.

PositionMeAI is not a tech startup. It is the product output of a career in industrial psychology — built on the research methods, psychometric rigour, and practitioner insight that 23 years of client work produces. The platform is new. The foundations are not.

The team

Who built this.

Louwlé de Vlamingh
Founder · Principal Industrial Psychologist · Creator of the Career Intelligence Framework
PhD candidate Registered I/O Psychologist HPCSA PS 0151985 23 years practice

Industrial Psychologist with 23 years of practice in career assessment, psychometric development, and organisational consulting in South Africa. Doctoral research into career capability development in AI-reshaped labour markets, grounded in the graduate attributes and career construction theory literature. Creator of the Career Intelligence Framework and all associated assessment, learning, and simulation products.

The Career Intelligence Framework is not a content project or a training product — it is the expression of a 23-year practice applied to the most significant shift in working life in a generation, developed with the psychometric standards that HPCSA registration demands and the research rigour that doctoral work requires.

Operating principles

How we work and what we won't do.

These are not values statements. They are constraints that govern every product decision, every content choice, and every institutional partnership we take on.

01
No outcome promises
We develop Career Intelligence. We never promise jobs, offers, promotions, or salary outcomes. Our products build capacity — what professionals do with that capacity is theirs.
02
Research foundations, not invention
Every construct in the Career Intelligence Framework — every pillar, every scoring dimension, every assessment item — is grounded in published scholarship. We extend existing research. We do not manufacture frameworks.
03
Open methodology
The CI Framework methodology is open for peer review. We publish what we built, how we built it, and what it cites. Institutional partners get the methodology documentation before they commit.
04
Consumer traction before institutional sales
We build real user usage before we sell institutional licences. MAUI and enterprise deployments follow demonstrable learner engagement — not the other way around.
05
Psychometric standards apply
HPCSA-registered practice means psychometric standards apply to everything we publish — scoring logic, diagnostic outputs, and simulation evaluation criteria. This is not an AI product company with a psychology veneer.
