1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data we collect

Career Scan & Report

• Your responses to the Career Scan questionnaire (field, role, self-assessment ratings)
• Your generated Career Intelligence Report results
• No account is required — scan data is processed to generate your report and is not stored against a persistent profile unless you opt in

Academy subscription

• Name and email address (for account creation and communication)
• Payment information — handled entirely by Paddle (global) or PayFast (South Africa); we never see or store your card details
• Course progress and completion data

Newsletter (Positioned)

• Email address and first name, if you subscribe
• Managed via Brevo; you can unsubscribe at any time from any email

Website usage

• Basic analytics (pages visited, time on site, referral source) via Cloudflare
• No third-party advertising trackers or social media pixels

3. Why we collect it

• To deliver the Career Scan Report — your responses are processed to generate your personalised six-pillar profile
• To manage your subscription — account data is needed to give you access to Academy courses
• To send the Positioned newsletter — only if you subscribed, only on the cadence stated
• To improve our products — aggregated, anonymised usage patterns help us understand which courses are most valuable

We do not use your data for targeted advertising, profiling for third parties, or any purpose not listed here.

4. Third parties who process your data

• Paddle — payment processing for global (USD) subscriptions. Paddle Privacy Policy →
• PayFast — payment processing for South Africa (ZAR) subscriptions
• Brevo — newsletter delivery for Positioned subscribers
• Cloudflare — website hosting and basic analytics
• GitHub — static site hosting infrastructure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

5. How long we keep your data

• Career Scan results — retained for up to 12 months to allow you to access your report, then deleted
• Subscription account data — retained for the duration of your subscription plus 12 months after cancellation
• Newsletter data — retained until you unsubscribe
• Transaction records — retained for 7 years as required by South African tax law

6. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment data is never stored on our servers — it is handled entirely by Paddle or PayFast. We apply industry-standard access controls to any data we do hold.

We will notify subscribers by email of any material changes to this Privacy Policy. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised.
